FSA – The Reference Standard for Sustainable Agriculture

The Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA), developed by SAI Platform, is an international tool designed to clearly and verifiably assess sustainable agricultural practices. This standard enables the entire food and beverage supply chain to operate according to shared criteria, promoting responsible production focused on protecting natural resources.

Climate Change
and Emissions Reduction

Reducing the climate impact
of our activities

Emissions reduction

We calculate emissions according to the GHG Protocol.
We have already launched a progressive decarbonization plan that includes:

renewable sources
Increase in energy
from renewable sources

Energy efficiency improvements in facilities
water consumption
Reduction of water consumption

Reduction of industrial waste

Every technological innovation is designed to combine efficiency and environmental protection, strengthening the resilience of our production model in the face of global climate change.

Renewable energy and emissions reduction (goal 7)

With the installation of 1,596 photovoltaic panels, the company actively contributes to the energy transition, achieving a reduction of approximately 250 tons of CO₂ emissions per year.

Responsible water consumption management (goal 12)

Constant monitoring of consumption, both quantitative and qualitative, makes it possible to identify optimization opportunities in washing, production and cooling processes.

Responsible use of resources and circular economy

Raw materials: efficient
and circular use of resources

circular economy

We recover and enhance citrus by-products by transforming them into new ingredients for the nutraceutical, cosmetic and food sectors, in collaboration with ENEA and Navhetec. We actively contribute to a low-impact circular economy model:

Reduction of plastic
Reduction of secondary plastic

Sustainable packaging and responsible logistics (goals 12 and 13)

Agrumaria Corleone’s sustainable packaging strategies follow the principles of the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” cycle. Implemented actions include reducing secondary plastic, reusing secondary containers, adopting recyclable and compostable materials, and compliance with major quality and safety standards (ISO 14001:2015, BRC, ISO 9001:2015). The objective is to reduce environmental impact across the entire logistics chain.

Enhancing human capital

People are the driving force
behind our growth

human capital

Agrumaria Corleone promotes equal opportunities, continuous training and organizational well-being, with particular attention to female representation in leadership roles (currently 4 women out of 7 on the Board of Directors).

With the creation of Citrus Academy, our new training structure, we invest in knowledge transfer and the development of young talents, strengthening a corporate culture based on safety, inclusion and active participation..

Business ethics and conduct

Our governance is based
on principles of integrity,
transparency and responsibility

business ethics

A Code of Ethics shared with all collaborators and a structured whistleblowing system ensure proper conduct, respect for human rights and compliance with international regulations.

Agrumaria Corleone also adheres to leading ethical and supply chain assessment platforms such as SEDEX and EcoVadis, strengthening its commitment each year toward fair and sustainable business conduct.

The information contained in the report derives from verified company sources and internal monitoring systems, integrated with industry benchmarks. Emissions were calculated according to the GHG Protocol, using the most up-to-date international emission factors.

This first voluntary reporting exercise marks the beginning of a path of growth and continuous improvement. Over time, we intend to expand our reporting and introduce independent verification, in line with new European sustainability directives (CSRD).

The company is committed to

Respecting human rights and combating all forms of child, forced or discriminatory labor

Promoting equal opportunities and valuing individual skills, ensuring a fair, safe and inclusive working environment

Conducting business activities ethically and in compliance with applicable laws, preventing misconduct, conflicts of interest, corruption and money laundering

Protecting workers’ health and safety by adopting effective preventive measures and mandatory training programs

Managing relationships with customers and suppliers with fairness, contractual transparency and quality standards

Promoting a culture of social responsibility also through audits and the selection of partners aligned with company values

Gender equality and reduction of the gender pay gap (goal 5)

Agrumaria Corleone promotes an inclusive work environment, with 49% of employees under the age of 40. Women represent 17.3% of the workforce and hold key roles: 50% of managerial positions and 60% of decision-making roles.
