The extraction of essential oils from citrus fruit began in 1890 with Salvatore Corleone, the great grandfather of the current owners of Agrumaria Corleone S.p.A. It was motivated by the desire to spread that magnificent “ciavuru ri limiuna” (lemon smell), which inebriated the gulf of Palermo and all the Conca d’Oro, around the world.
